After graduating from Colorado State University Veterinary School in 1990 and completing a 1-year internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group in CA, Dr. Shannon McCollough spent the first few years of her career in Denver.  She just returned HOME to Colorado after a 28-year absence!  She has been a leader in her 30+ years in the veterinary industry.  She is a past-president of the Greater St. Louis Veterinary Medical Association (GSLMVA) and has worked on various committees for both the GSLVMA and the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. McCollough has been active in Animal Welfare in the last 15 years of her career, including 9 years as a shelter veterinarian and active in various animal welfare organizations in St. Louis.  Though she enjoys all aspects of her job as a veterinarian, she is especially interested in internal medicine and dermatology.

Shannon has been married to Mark McCollough (his career has been in the construction industry) since 1989 and they have one child – Luke – born in 2000.  The McColloughs currently have 4 pets – 3 dogs and a cat – all named after cars!!!

Shannon has been an active member in political organizations in St. Louis for many years and has already begun networking politically as well as in the animal welfare sector in Summit County.  She has also been a committed volunteer in the education sector for 20+ years.  She is looking forward to “making a difference” in Summit County!

The McColloughs are avid adventure travelers and have traveled to 53 countries so far and all 7 continents…
