Mark Cowan, D.V.M.

After graduating from Veterinary College at Kansas State University I returned to Colorado to practice at a mixed animal hospital. After deciding to concentrate on small animals I returned to school to pursue a small animal internship. I moved to Summit County in 2000 and opened Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital in 2004. When I am not working, you can find me enjoying the slopes in the winter and cycling in the summer.

Christine Murphy, D.V.M.

I started working at Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital in July 2012, but have been working as a veterinarian in Summit County since 1998! I earned my Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Natural Resources/Environmental Science in 1989, and graduated with honors from Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1995 earning my DVM. My husband and I then moved to the Denver area where Dr. Cowan and I first worked together at Broomfield Veterinary Hospital. I moved to Breckenridge in Nov. 1998. Although I completed my education in Michigan, I grew up as a military brat and lived all over the United States. I have always had family ties to Colorado, where my mother was born and raised. Our whole family has a love for the mountains and the outdoors, and you may see me with my husband Peter, two children Mia and Jacob, and two dogs Buddy and Twila skiing, biking, backpacking, hiking, or camping. The three cats in the family (Joey, Bobbi and Einstein) tend to be couch potatoes and prefer to enjoy the sunshine from the upstairs deck!

Alison McNeilly, D.V.M.

I moved to Colorado in 2003 after obtaining my undergraduate degree in Western NY. I made the move from  Boulder to Summit County the following fall. I attended the Colorado State University for veterinary school. During this time my husband remained in Summit County allowing me to spend much of my time here during school. Following graduation I completed a small animal rotating internship at Wheatridge Animal Hospital. I am now living the dream: living and practicing in Summit County!! In my free time I enjoy all things outdoor with my husband Greg and three dogs, Drake, Walter and Lucy.

 Vivian Baker, Head Receptionist

Since a very young age I have always had a strong passion for any and all animals. This passion comes from my dad who, throughout my life, has always kept exotic pets. From marmosets to baby caimans, I have had just about every type of animal out there so I understand just how important a pet's role can be in a family. Currently, I am the momma to a Black Lab named Lizard, a Floridian King Snake named Nag, a cat named Bailey and a Crested Gecko, Gil. I have always pictured myself in the Veterinary field and plan on attending school to become a certified Veterinary Technician when the time is right. I spend my free time skiing, hiking and camping.

Pam Parker, Certified Veterinary Technician

I was born and raised on Long Island in New York and moved to Colorado permanently in December 2013. I got my bachelor's degree in business management at Sacred Heart University and then decided to pursue a career as a veterinary technician in 2009 so I moved to Fort Collins and went to Front Range Community College. After graduating in 2011 I moved to Summit County so I could enjoy spending most of my time outside. I enjoy working with large and small animals, so I try to go to my mom's cattle ranch in Montana whenever possible to help out (and also to visit my horse, Punky). I currently live in Silverthorne with my husband, Tor. We have two kitties named Pickle and Neptune as well as several chickens!

 Jason D'Agostino, Veterinary Assistant

While growing up along the foothills of the Adirondack mountains in upstate New York I always knew animals and the forest were my passions. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University.  After graduating I worked on many different research projects around the country including critically endangered Mexican wolves and riparian brush rabbits as well as mink, weasels, river otter, pine marten and fisher. After falling in love with Summit County I decided to pursue a position with Buffalo Mountain Animal Hospital. On my free time, I am out in the forest with my dog or my bicycle.

Amanda Stewart, Receptionist

Originally from Michigan and relocated to Colorado in the fall of 2012. After one season, I was Hooked! When not at work assisting you and your furry friends, I am spending time with my two, Bentley and Royce. In the summer, we like to hike, swim, and camp of course. In the winter, since they are so little, we do get some snow buried faces and prefer to stay warm inside. Oh, don't forget basking in the sun on the deck all year long!  Other than that, you can find me enjoying the mountain and gathering for food with friends.
